Pastor Anto Samuel comes to the rescue of children in Jaffna

we have received the shocking informatiion that KNH (Kinde not Hilfe) of Germany who have done exceptional work among needy and vulnerable kids among us and even some other organizations are withdrawing their support, a decision that does not give a forty days notice. Their contention is that they are exploring this support on a Community Based Development programme a plan that they should have discussed with us in the first place.

Their decsion also comes at a time when there is heavy influx of needy children from the IDP camps that has placed a great deal of constrains on us. In the light of this decision, we are placed in a position to re-think our whole support programme on some dynamic lines that mark our obligations for people in need especially children and young people

On hearing this news our good friend in Melbourne Pastor Anto Samuel who had visited our hostels recently and spent time with the kids has graciously offered to pioneer a programme among our Disapora to come to the rescue of our children in need. She even went further by offering the total support of our Boys Hostel in Jaffna.

This timely intervention is very much appreciated and we hope many will follow her example.
In expressing our gratitude to Pastor Anto whose mission has now become deeply ingrained in our diocese and community. we haqve been told that this hostel will now be named, Samuel Hostel for Boys, Jaffna. The challenge is such we will face it and ensure that our needy folks are served adequately.
