On Sunday .the 13th of April, 13 young children were confirmed by the Bishop of the JDCSI and the Chairman of ACM, and taken into the fellowship of the church as the full memebers of the Jaffna Diocese of the Church of South India.
The other pastors who took part were The Rev. S. Ariaratnam, the Bishop's Chaplain, the area minister of the Hill Country and the pastor in charge of the Nuwera Eliya The Rev. Antony Sawarimuthu, the area minister for Vavuniya The Rev. Thevaharan, and Rev. Dr. Rajaseelan Terrence Maria Antoneyo , Coordinator for Medical Ministries. After the confirmation a grand felicitation was given by the people of Nuwera Eliya and Hatton for the newly ordained Presbyter The Rev. Joseph Gunalan Thiagarajah and the Deacon Rev. Dr. Rajaseelan Terrence Maria Antoneyo.
It was encouraging to see the number of people attended the ceremony, and it is only by the grace of God that the church is growing. Rev. Antony Sawarimuthu and his wife Jeyaranee should be commended for the hard work they do in the Hill Country.
