Hon. R.T. Wignarajah, District Judge issued an arrest warrant on Monday, 18th February 2008 on the Rev, Sellathurai Jeyanesan who claims to be the Chairman of the so-called "Church of American Ceylon Mission" for failing to appear in Court on three continues occasions to answer charges of contempt of court.

| The District Court of Jaffna gave a verdict on 3rd August 2007 on an action filed by the Treasurer, Americsn Ceylon Mission (ACM) seeking inter alia declaration that(a) the persons who constitute the ACM are the Bishop, Secretary and Treasurer respectively of the Jaffna Diocese of the Church of South India (JDCSI) and(b) the Wider Church Ministries (WCM) of the United Church of Christ (UCC) in the USA or anyone acting on their behalf or their servants or agents have no right or authority in law to appoint and/or approve the Officers of the ACM. |
| An Enjoining Order was issued restraining the defendents cited in this case including Rev. S. Jeyanesan or any person claiming under them from aserting in any manner whatsoever any function or power over the ACM and/or using the ACM's name in any manner whatsoever or howsoever. |
| Hon. M.A. Sumanthiran appeared for the Plaintiffs on Monday instructed by Mr. A. Rajaratnam and assisted by Attorneys Ms. Hamsana Vamadeva, Mr. Suresh Fernando, Mr. V.T. Sivalingam and Ms. Shamine V. Gunaratne. |
| The court orderd that the Rev. Jeyanesan be arrested and produced in court at its next hearing scheduled for 31st March 2008. |
